Challenge 1
This challenge our task was to “Design and make something that can help the process of designing/creating/thinking with others” and we had to do our project based on the knowledge from the previous classes : Git/HTML, CAD and CAM.
This topic was really close to my research area, because I the most important methods in are participatory planning and co-creation. Why these methods? To be able and create a platform for different generations where everyone have their voice expressed for our common future. Where kids have agency in their own environments as citizens and where they have the awareness of the impact of their decisions, in a world where they decisions are just as valid an important as ours, because they are the one who will have to make decisions in this rapidly changing
world, very soon.So I teamed up with Anna and José.
On this repository you can read all the details of our project.
Our groups interests were around:
- shared realities
- future generations
- emotions and emotional expression
- freedom of speech
- imagining, co-creating futures
So we designed a game, a game to shape our common realities, to connect and to be able to express ourselves to each other. To create those bridges that separate us. It is also a game of mobility and agility. We have to listen and communicate to be aware of the situation around us.
This game’s aim is to raise awareness for the importance of asking questions to see all the realities around us and to be able and plan together. To raise awareness in the importance of the ways how we can answer a question (by emotions, facts, experiences or just by imagination) and to be able and give voice to everyone, doing this in a cooperative way with physical movements.
The game is made of a laser-cut box, which you can disassemble to 6 pieces, those are the emergent topics we can talk about. 6 ropes and their laser-cut handlers.
Our team was such playful and curious as our toy became. My contribution in the process was mostly about the ideation on the system of the toy, the 3d design, the prototype, which I tested with José the file for laser cutting and some graphics.
